Winter closure of Little Cottage and upgrades for 2023

Early morning light and the ocean behind yellow gorse flowers. A view over water with trees in the background. A large ship on the horizon. Beautiful morning light and sharp relief shadows ten minutes walk from the Maenporth cottage.

Little Cottage is having a winter makeover! A new hand crafted luxury kitchen made from reclaimed hardwoods, hot water tap and an American sized fridge freezer to cater for family sized shopping trips.

Two new bathrooms are being installed with a huge 2 metre long bath, a new wetroom with heated marble floor along with a rain shower.

Finally we have installed our rainwater recycling that cuts the cottages water footprint by 75%, using natural rainwater collected from the roof spaces to flush toilets, wash clothes and water the garden.

We have a 6kW solar PV system being installed with a 28kWh battery to ensure that we generate more than 80% of our electricity on site from the Cornish sunshine. Solid wall insulation has previously been fitted along with the wood burning stove meaning the house is kept warm by very old sunlight from sustainably managed local firewood.

We also have a high capacity 24kW EV charging station available for guests to use for a fee. Charge your car using Cornish sunlight!

We also have plans for 2024 including a new self contained garden micro tiny house, totally off grid available for self contained solo travellers.
