In addition to our existing property near Mawnan Smith, we are renovating another in Penryn. The core of this cottage is over 600 years old. Restored with love in an Arts and Crafts style, Artist’s Retreat has solar thermal hot water generated from the sun, solar electricity to power the cottage, a wood burning stove for heating and hot water.
Refurbished with largely reclaimed architectural antiques, locally sourced hard woods and filled with the work of local artisans and artists, the 2 bedroom cottage can sleep 4 people in comfort, along with a sofa bed in the garden room. The heritage property lies in the heart of the old town conservation area on one of the oldest streets in Penryn.
Just 3 minutes walk from the sea and within walking distance of amazing pubs, cafes and the University, the Fish Factory arts centre, no car is needed to enjoy this beautiful retreat.
The property is, unusually for Cornwall, accessible by the local train station on a branch line from the Truro to London mainline and we provide guests with bicycles to travel locally. Falmouth is a 10 minute ride away. It is served well by local busses that run until late so you can leave your car behind and relax into the slower Cornish pace of life.
The property and kitchen is for vegetarians, we ask that guests respect this choice so other guests can enjoy a worry free and cruelty free stay.

If you feel like being pampered, we have incredible local chefs available to deliver food cooked with seasonal local ingredients delivered to the door. Special rates for local luxury spa treatments at the cottage, classic car hire for special days out. Picnic baskets made for trips to special places vegan and vegetarian.
If you just want to rest and relax, the cottage can be hired without the courses and a menu of amazing services from local artisans if you would like them.
